Documents Required for the Visa Process
Where possible please ensure you have the following documentation easily available as they are required for the visa application process:
- Original Degree (or a notarised copy of your degree certificate - please contact the Korean Embassy for details)
- Four passport sized photos
- A photocopy of the photo page of your passport
- University transcripts in a sealed envelope from your university (have them sent to you, keep them in the sealed envelope and send them to Korea along with the other documents).
- Passport - valid for 6 months
Costs
- Once you have secured a position you are required to send some documents to Korea. It is advisable to use a courier service with a tracking service. This can cost up to £50. However, FCC teachers from the UK are eligible for a discount. Contact your GFCC rep for more information
- You will also be required to take or send (via special delivery) some documents to your nearest Korean embassy
- Visa Fee - £27.50 (costs may vary in countries outside the UK)
- Immunisations
- Travel insurance
- When you arrive in Korea you will need enough money to survive until pay day. How much you will need depends on what date you arrive on, what date you are paid on and how you live i.e. whether you go out partying every night or stay home. In any case, living in Korea is relatively cheap and if worst comes to worst employers are usually willing to give an advance in wages
