Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
The culture in South Korea has always appealed to me and teaching abroad would be a great way to experience the lifestyle. Working with people of different nationalities has developed a desire to make learning English as a second language a fun and enjoyable experience. I come from a large, extended family and I love helping my younger cousins in learning something new. Teaching in a country where I speak very little of the language appeals to my enjoyment of exploring outside of my comfort zone.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I have a lot of younger cousins and have spent many a summer holiday with them – this has given me a good insight into the development of children at different stages. And with spending large periods of time with my extended family I have developed a lot of patience with both young and old. This enables me to get the best out of people. I have lived away from home for 3 years while doing my degree, this I feel has helped me to develop good coping skills in different situations. The past 2 plus years working in my present job has enabled me to develop as a person. It has helped me see my ability to lead and to take action when needed. I also know how important it is to seek help when running into trouble.
