Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
New cultures have always been that I have found engaging. I'm able to adapt to new environments quickly, and I truly enjoy doing so. I believe it's a great learning experience and would love the teaching overseas to be able to grow both professionally and personally. Adapting to a new way of working and living; whilst helping to further young children's lives and help them also grow and develop would be so rewarding. I have only done two weeks worth of teaching experience, when I was high school student. But I loved every minute of it, and wished I could go back to doing it again. The experience filled me with such joy. By bringing excitement with learning, it can be such a great experience for both yourself and the students, and brings so much more motivation and engagement to the table. I believe there's never a dull day when it comes to teaching, there's always something different that may occur. It's a chance to not only teach these children, but to also learn for yourself. I have taken a certain interest in South Korean, in general, so the option to teach there would be truly amazing. The reason I wanted to start studying a fashion degree was due to my love of South Korean fashion. The bold, daring looks of the youth today in South Korea, is truly groundbreaking, and I really admire the approach to fashion and style that Koreans have. I also fell in love with country as a whole; the idea of community and always thinking about others before yourself, always respecting elders; is something that we just don't see as much is Western countries, and it's truly refreshing to see. I even began teaching Korean, as I find it to be such a beautiful language, and would love to be able to develop those skills in conversation with locals and other teachers around the school to make my experience teaching a lot more fulfilling.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I'm a truly motivated person and will always bring 110% effort to whatever I set out to do. Throughout all of my university career, I have tackled a part time job; and at times, have helped up an internship too. I can work incredibly well under pressure and am able to balance my time effectively. I'm also able to adapt to new environments quickly and am quick to learn, so I believe I will settle in straight away. A skill which has always been picked up on, by every single one of my employees, including Evoke & Wetherspoons. Even though I lack full teaching experience, it is not something I am a stranger too. With my work placement as a teen, that I was praised for and also for the leadership skills shown in my everyday work. As a bar associate, I have been on the job for almost four years; being one of the most experienced. This leads to myself helping new members of staff find their way around and teaching the trade. Customer service is also always about making the customers happy; making sure they have the best experience possible. The same applies to teaching. By being able to create the best environment for your students possible, you are able to get the most out of them, and the more they will grow and develop in their studies. I believe, this is something I could truly tap into.
