Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
I strongly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to improve their prospects. English is a global language and, as a native speaker, I'm in a position to be able to assist others achieve their ambitions. I have recently returned to the UK after travelling through Asia and this gave me a new perspective on the importance of the English language. I met with people who were able to get a good job after learning English and with others who were desperately keen to practise and improve the language. I also volunteered to teach English in Laos and saw, for the first time, how rewarding such a job can be.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I am a native English speaker who has lived and worked in the UK for my entire life. I have substantial experience of working with people of all backgrounds and abilities, which I feel makes me a more patient and understanding person. I have travelled to numerous different countries around the world and have been exposed to many different lifestyles, meaning that I can easily adapt to living and working in a foreign country. Lastly, I have always enjoyed teaching - whether that was teaching Sunday school classes as a teenager or helping young people improve their language skills more recently. Education is something that is very important to me and I would love the opportunity to help other people achieve their life goals through learning English.
