Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
I first became interested in teaching English through the youth work and voluntary teaching I was involved in within my community. I realised the massive benefit it has on people. Since then I've participated in working with children and university students and I have seen firsthand how much benefit it had on them. English is an international language, and teaching is a very rewarding role whereby you see the fruits of your efforts.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I do have the capacity to execute tasks and take on substantial responsibilities under pressure. My tutors from the CELTA course often praised me for my time management and completing duties and assignments before the deadline, which shows my time management skills. This was a skill I acquired from the youth work I was managing. I had a team of 8 people whom I had to lead by having regular meetings, chasing up tasks, and meeting yearly targets, etc. This was all done alongside a full-time job and maintaining a family. I would say that my skills and approach to lessons would make me suitable for the job. I have a clear understanding of different teaching methodologies and how to apply it in various classroom environments and diverse learners. Teaching is something I love and is it exemplified through my character and care for my students. I have the ability to create a good rapport with my students, my colleagues and always work well as a team.
