Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
Working and living overseas has been a primary ambition of mine for years. I have a thirst for adventure and a yearning to experience a culture and environment different from my own. I particularly want to live and work in South Korea because I can speak the language and have a sound grasp of Korean culture and tradition. This knowledge, I feel, will help me transition smoothly into what I hope to call my new home. Mastering the English language is also a skill that is highly valued in South Korea, and I believe my passion and love for the English language will be beneficial to students faced with the daunting task of learning it from scratch.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I have experience living in a foreign country and understand the struggles that foreigners face on a day to day basis. This means I know exactly what to expect and I am prepared to tackle these struggles head-on. I also have copious amounts of experience learning other languages, as well as having an in-depth knowledge of my own language, and therefore have a special compassion for those struggling with learning a new language, as well as being equipped with the skills to help them overcome these linguistic struggles. Moreover, I have experience teaching at both a professional level at a university, as well as at a private level with tutoring. For this reason I can cater to the needs of the majority as well as the individual. These are the reasons why I think I would be an excellent candidate to teach overseas.
