Work Experience
Position 1
Job title:
Sales Assistant
Dates of employment:
23/08/2017
Summary of role:
I sell shoes to customers, I have to have good knowledge of what we sell and pass on the knowledge to customers. I am around people all the time so have to be friendly and approachable. Also as I work in central London there are a lot of tourists/foreigners who do not speak English very well and I have to communicate with them as positively as I can. I used to babysit children for my mums friend when I was younger and did so for about 2 years.
Position 2
Job title:
Bar Staff
Dates of employment:
15/08/2017
Summary of role:
I work behind the bar in a very well known and popular pub in central London. Like Dr Martens I have to communicate with customers constantly so am used to being around people all the time. I serve them drinks and give them information about the different products we offer. There is also a music venue where we hold live music where I sometimes work behind the bar so am around lots of new and exciting bands, some of which travel from all over the world to perform.
Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
I am a very friendly and outgoing person and love meeting new people. I have been very fortunate to be able to travel to many different countries already and have a drive to continue exploring. I recently visited Japan and loved the culture and would like to see more of Asia. I do not speak Korean but find the challenge exciting. My mother was a primary school teacher, who would sometimes take me into her school when I was younger, so it seems a nice progression to carry on something she loved doing. I am very good with children and feel like it would be a very rewarding experience. I babysat for friends of my parents when I was younger for a number of years so have experience with children. My current and previous jobs have prepared me in terms of approaching people and being comfortable speaking to strangers, and generally being a warm and open person. More than anything I like to have fun and learn from my experiences along the way.
