Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
As a learner of foreign languages myself, I have always been interested in the idea of teaching English as a foreign language. This interest grew as I completed my TEFL course, and I am looking for my first opportunity to teach overseas. I am a keen traveller, so it feels natural to want to teach in a foreign country. South Korea particularly appeals to me as I have been fascinated by the country's culture and language for several years, although I am still very much a beginner when it comes to speaking Korean. I am keen to experience a lifestyle very different to my own while also giving something back in the form of teaching.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I am an adaptable individual who has lived and travelled overseas in the past, so would feel comfortable living in a very different country to my own. In fact, I would relish the experience. I see teaching English overseas primarily as an opportunity to share my native language with foreign students (and hopefully instil in them the same passion for learning languages that I acquired during my school years), while also experiencing a new and vibrant culture.
