Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
This seems like a rare opportunity to bring some character from myself and my home (USA, So. California) to a group of kids that could benefit so much from being socialized with another culture, and will possibly experience it even more when they get to college. The day-to-day work life of a TEFL teacher in S. Korea appeals to me because I believe it would allow me to bring out more of myself and my experiences as a way to bond with the students and help them learn a version of English that is both formal and conversational.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I am positive I would be an asset to young kids learning English both because of of my experience in education and in journalism. I am sure the combination would give me insights not many other foreign English teachers have, as well as a passion to do the job right! Additionally, I would be given the chance to integrate with a brand new culture and country, something which I have always found so much joy in!
