Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
I have learned a lot about SouthEast Asia in my Social Entrepreneurship studies at UVA. This past year I took "Innovation in SouthEast Asia" and created an in depth presentation on Thailand's innovation profile as a final project so I am very interested in learning more about the region. Additionally, my cousin recently adopted a three year old and a four year old from China who are amazing but cannot speak english yet. You can tell that it frustrates the kids not being able to interact with their adoptive siblings perfectly yet. The few times I've been able to teach them some of the language has been very rewarding.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I coached 5-10 year olds on my swim team from the time I was 13 to the time I was 18. I know how to be patient with kids, especially being the oldest of 7 grandkids. I have a love for language and learning knew things. Finally, I would love to travel and do something to make a difference in the world before I start law school and am unable to to do these things.
