Supporting Information
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
I would like to take on a new challenge whilst experiencing a new culture. I feel this would help my to grow personally and professionally as it will require me to be independent, organised and proactive in the way I approach the role. I also enjoy travelling in general and this scheme would allow my to earn whilst I do this, making it a potential stepping stone to further jobs abroad. It is an opportunity that excites me and one that I would be eager to undertake.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
My degree has equipped me with the skills to succeed in many fields. I have developed strong organisational, research and communication skills which will come in useful when teaching. In particular, my strong oral communication and inter personal skills will ensure that I am able to create an engaging and stimulating learning environment for students so that they truly get the best out of the lessons. These skills have been further developed by my recent tutoring experience in my hometown where I teach local pupils in A Level Politics. This will be good preparation for teaching abroad as it has shown me the importance of lesson planning and of tailoring the lesson to your pupils to suit their different needs. Therefore I am confident I can be a success with Flying Cows as I have the personal attributes and recent relevant experience.
