Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I have always loved to travel and experience new things. Teaching overseas would be a great experience for me while also fulfilling my desire to have my job feel like more than just getting a pay check. Teaching is a very important occupation and one that I feel passionate about. It’s a job where I will feel like I’m doing something that matters. On top of that, teaching in Korea would be an amazing learning experience for me. I have always wanted to see what life would be like living in another country as well as become fluent in another language. All of these factors are reasons why I want to teach abroad.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I have always been great with kids. The bulk of my family is made up of younger children, of which I’m usually left to entertain during reunions, which I love. I also had a lot of experience working with children during my older job at ACAC, a gym where I worked in the childcare center. I believe that the reason why I’m so great with children stems from an inner-child like part of myself. As an artist, I’m constantly being pushed to use my imagination to create stories or to act as a character. I relate to children well and can understand them easily. This would translate to how I would teach them. I would be able to quickly identify how a child would learn best as well as what would motivate them to want to learn. I have also been lucky enough to travel abroad frequently throughout my life. Traveling has broadened my view on the world and made me more accepting of other cultures, beliefs, and people; even to a point where I prefer to be surrounded by people and things that are different than what I am used to. Because of this, I would embrace South Korea’s culture and easily be able to adapt to it.
