Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I am looking to move into a teaching career, and would like to gain experience which will be valuable to me in the future and demonstrate my commitment when applying for teacher training courses. After living abroad all throughout my childhood, I have continued to travel regularly; I would welcome the opportunity to experience a new country from the perspective of a resident (not just a tourist) while contributing to the local community by teaching English to children and exchanging cultural knowledge.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

Having lived abroad at a young age and had to learn a new language, I feel I would have some experience of my students’ perspective and would be able to apply this understanding in the classroom to put them at their ease and help them develop their language proficiency. I have informally tutored Spanish children from ages 5-15 in English for several years, and have previously volunteered as a classroom assistant helping children with their reading and English skills. My current role as a project manager in the market research industry requires me to be very flexible in my working environment and learn to adapt to unexpected situations, as plans can change very quickly; I understand from experience that this is important in teaching, especially when working with younger children.
