Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

With my degree in BA Politics having reached an end, I’m eager to experience the world of work, and believe that being an ESL teacher is the best way of experiencing the two together. Through my experiences teaching over the past year, I have developed a real taste for EFL teaching and I absolutely love it. I have learnt so many things from effective teaching techniques (eliciting, concept checking, drilling, scaffolding, personalisation, etc.) to my own preferred teaching styles (student centred, interactive and dynamic). I have taught multiple EFL lessons at different levels, and can confidently say that being in front of a class and visibly seeing my input resulting in their progress is something I don’t think I could ever tire of.
My desire to travel also driven me to apply. Travel is a huge passion of mine: exploring new cultures, food, histories arts and meeting new people from across the globe. Many of my travel plans have been put on hold due to COVID, and the prospect of reigniting them is thrilling. I am particularly interested in learning a new language, opening the doors of communication across the globe. I am a British national, but my multicultural, overseas upbringing means I have a deep appreciation for diversity and can adapt quickly to new environments.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I have extensive experience both teaching and living overseas. Both my parents are international TEFL teachers, and so I have been constantly exposed to and raised in a teaching overseas environment. I am an incredibly adaptable, flexible individual who thrives in new environments. I also have an excellent understanding of what makes a fabulous teacher. I strive towards this every day, and have a collection of student testimonials that are testament to this.
From what I can gauge, you are looking for an applicant who is friendly, motivated, outgoing and enthusiastic, who can plan engaging lessons, motivate their students to flourish, and take advantage of all the benefits the programme has to offer. I firmly believe I am this person.
