Work Experience

Position

Job title: Job Role – Financial Data Administrator
Employer: Company – Deloitte
Date of employment: December 2017 – Current
Summary of role:

This role is a contract based role within Clydesdale Bank on behalf of Deloitte. My job is to gather and analyse customer information and records to ensure complaints are dealt with in a fair, timely and accurate manner. Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative otherwise cases and complaints can cause fines and delays in the overall process. Although quality is key in this role, targets are also just as important. The high pressure environment of high quality and weekly targets is something that allows me to show my hard work ethic; I was awarded team member of the month in the fourth month of working in this position, something I am proud of. The contract for this role is set to be extended before the end of the year, however I am looking to develop a career, something contracting doesn’t offer although the experience I have gained has been invaluable.

Position

Job title: Job Role – Graduate Manager
Employer: Company – Glasgow Grand Central Hotel – Principal Hotels
Date of employment: July 2016 – December 2017
Summary of role:

I was identified and selected as a strong candidate for the Hotel Group’s Graduate Scheme from my previous role at a sister property: Wychwood Park. The graduate program was an eighteen month managerial placement.
I was part of the management team in several departments: Conference and Banqueting, Finance and Sales. The finance department is where I spent most of my time as it was where I was seen as most effective. The highlight of this role was creating a syste to improve the payroll of the hotel. It was a project I undertook in my spare time, which was still used at the hotel before I left to work for Deloitte in a better suited role.
The graduate program was a fantastic experience and gave me the opportunity to manage a team of over fifteen people, which was a real challenge, but one that I felt I exceeded expectations.

Position

Job title: Job Role – Nights Porter
Employer: Company – Wychwood Park Hotel – Principal Hotels / DeVere Hotels
Date of employment:
Summary of role:

The main responsibilities of this role included: running the night audit; rotas for the night’s team; cashing up; setting up conference rooms for corporate events; food preparation, breakfast service shifts and security.
Having joined the team shortly after graduating, I was promoted to night’s team leader within 3 months. This extra responsibility allowed me to influence processes and procedures for the night team.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I would like to teach overseas for two main reasons.
– improve my ability to communicate in diverse environments to help expand my teaching knowledge and ability.
– Live and work in a foreign country, something completely out of my comfort zone and something that will give me memories for the rest of my life.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I am dedicated, motivated and enthusiastic when it comes to teaching. My previous role as a summer camp team leader really opened my eyes to teaching. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make a success of this role. I want to help others while developing myself. China is the furthest thing from where i am from in the UK and this opportunity is something i will grab with both hands and make a huge success of.

Additional information:

Having traveled south east Asia for just over 3 months.
