Job title: Online English Tutor
Employer: Cambly
Date of employment: March 2018 – Present
Summary of role:

Cambly’s platform is flexible and mainly focuses on Speaking skills. However, there are lesson plans available for students that are just starting, beginners, and intermediate to high intermediate. Also, students can also work on their reading and pronunciation by choosing articles of their choice. Students are allowed to rate their teachers and on with this company my rating is 4.87 (out of 5) overall.

Duties: I taught vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar structures of all skill levels. I did lessons practicing reading and pronunciation. I taught tenses, idioms and phrasal verbs, and had conversations on topics to practice for IELTS speaking tests. I gave constructive feedback during every lesson and made sure that I made these corrections in a timely manner that did not hinder the students’ confidence or overwhelm them. I made corrections on all aspects of English skills. I also have about 12 permanent students who I teach weekly, when I am not teaching my regular students I take calls with new students every day as well.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I love travelling and meeting new people from all over the world. I especially love going to countries that are not westernized or don’t speak English because I love to learn about different cultures and lifestyles. I lived in Thailand for 3 years and I absolutely loved the people and the culture so I am looking forward to living in another country again!

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I am a friendly and easy going person so I make friends easily and work well with people.

Additional information:
