Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I am really excited by the thought of immersing myself within a different culture. South Korea is such a beautiful country, it is one of the most technologically advanced of its kind, yet remains un-spoilt in terms of its heritage and history, as it has the best of both newly advanced technologies yet still has the most beautiful original temples. I picked Korea as I believe the students really respect the education system and they want to get the most out of their time within education.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I have experience working with children and had a voluntary 5 week placement at Trinity Academy in Halifax, where I worked 1-1 with the children supporting them in their drawings and paintings. It was a time out of class for the students to talk to an adult about struggles with their studies, everyday life, or just a general informal chit chat. This was set up independently through contacting the deputy head of the school and arranging for me to come visit once a week. The children thoroughly appreciated my time there and it was a fantastic way of giving the children a bit of extra attention that they might not have got in the busy classroom. It was a lovely experience for me and I am really proud to have got the chance to do it.

I have valuable experience with working with children within education. I understand the struggles that individuals may face when they are in school, and as a result I believe I would be good at tailoring my lessons to allow the students that were behind target to develop and grow to improve their learning.
