Position

Job title: Social Media Specialist Intern

Date of employment: November – December 2018
Summary of role:

Social Media Specialist Intern for a small fashion-brand startup based in London.

Position

Job title: Social Media Specialist Intern
Employer: Green Story Ltd
Date of employment: 1st September 2018 – 26th October 2018
Summary of role:

A two-month internship for a start-up business based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The responsibilities include creating content to post on their Instagram (@your_greenstory) page and occasionally Facebook on a daily basis, ensuring that the account creates further reach. Assisting in the strategic planning of the content and engaging with other users. It is a challenge as the company is a business-to-business platform and creating a social media reach for the account is different compared to just business to customer and I entered this without prior experience working in social media marketing. But the intention of the account as well as to educate people on current environmental matters. As a result of my time running the Instagram account, the account has seen an increase of 101.05% increase in interactions, 13.6% increase in followers, and 57.5% increase in consistent content posting. Prior to my entry into the internship, the company has never gained any clientele through their Instagram before but by rebranding the company to appear more approachable through Instagram, it has led to 4 leads that eventually turned into clients within the two months of my time as their social media intern.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I want to be able to explore another country and have a full-time job to enable me to explore the culture and history of Korea. I also believe in trying a lot of things at least once, and having a new career path in a new country is a great challenge but also exciting to be a part of.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

Well, I feel that I have the enthusiasm for exploring new scenery and excited for exploring a new career path. I have experienced working in Canada and want to expand that further by working in Asia and other countries. I personally do not like being limited to one country and would explore the world more if I could.
