Job title: Nursery Assistant
Employer: Busy Bees Nursery
Date of employment: April 2015-June 2015
Summary of role:

It was my responsibility to assist the education providers in creating a safe and fun environment for children of varying age groups (0-5 years). I helped plan and carry out learning activities and was encouraged to interact with the children, enabling them develop their confidence, motor skills, and basic literacy and numeracy abilities.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

The idea of teaching abroad has always appealed to me as it would enable me to pursue a rewarding career whilst fulfilling my desire to travel and explore new cultures. Asia is full of dynamic societies, with rich, vibrant traditions and practises, along with rapidly growing economies and a diverse range of opportunities for foreigners. This century is being called the ‘Asian Century’, and I would love help inspire the next generation of Asian leaders to have both an open mind and a broad understanding of world cultures and the English language.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I believe my previous experience working with children, together with the skills I have learned whilst at university, have helped prepared me for a future career in English language teaching. During my degree, I studied numerous topics relating to the English language ranging from grammar and syntax, to phonology and language acquisition. Recently, I have been teaching English privately to a Syrian refugee in order to gain experience in teaching adult learners. I am patient and understanding, and I am sure that I could help create an open and comfortable environment for language learners of any age group.
