Work Experience

Position

Job title: Ride Operator
Employer: Knott’s Berry Farm
Date of employment: June 2018- January 2019
Summary of role:

I was in Camp Snoopy for 3 months and interacted with children of all ages. I made sure the riders met the ride requirements, kept the ride and the riders safe, and helped to make sure the customers were having a good visit in the park by helping out where I was needed and answering any questions about the park. I was then transferred to a rollercoaster and worked with my co-workers in maintaining the ride and the customers safe at all times while making their day in any way that I could.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I want to teach because I want to broaden my horizons. I want to learn from different cultures and explore the unfamiliar territory.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I love kids. I believe that I have the patience that it takes to teach children of all ages. I also have a psychology background that taught me how to approach and interact with people of all ages. I am capable of seeing things from different perspective, which will help me out a lot when working with learners that come from a different culture.

Additional information:

I have experience with volunteering at Communication Cafe, in California Lutheran University. This is a program that is aimed at study abroad students from all over the world. They get to interact with the locals and the students and teach you about their culture while learning how to adjust to our culture better.
