Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I love teaching, and I want to become the best possible teacher I can be. Korea consistently ranks highly in the OECD’s PISA report and I would be interested to personally discover what makes their education system produce consistent high results. The opportunity to be able to work and experience another culture is a privilege that I simply could not turn down, and with the right opportunity I could easily imagine myself making a long-career out of it.
I believe that teaching overseas also would provide great learning opportunities and would allow me to flourish as a teacher by encountering new cultures and education systems.
Lastly, Teaching English is a lingua franca so provides further opportunities for English students (incredibly rewarding).

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I am a passionate, open minded and motivated person, who is well traveled, which means I would be able to adapt easily to other cultures. Also, I am willing to learn. I am patient and able to identify different learning abilities and needs easily. Teaching overseas leads to immersion in culture which I personally think is the best way to develop intercultural understandings and grow as a teacher. This is important because cultural differences can be frustrating but by developing these intercultural understandings, overcoming these difficulties provide opportunities for learning and are incredibly rewarding. Once more, I have experience as an overseas teacher already, which means that I am able to treat the job as a serious profession and not just a holiday as teaching is something that I am passionate about. Furthermore I have a Bsc in Psychology and Education which is apt for the role of a teacher in any country.
