Work Experience

Position

Job title: Scoring Director
Employer: Data Recognition Corporation
Date of employment: August 2018 — current
Summary of role:

I managed 50 individuals who scored over 200,000 papers. We finished ahead of our deadline and with high accuracy. I reviewed hundreds of student papers collected during a field testing and assembled and annotated 25 papers that were used to train said scorers in accordance with the scoring standards set by the client. I analyzed statistics daily and completed 2 training sessions daily throughout our project in order to maintain accuracy and speed among hundreds of readers to complete project before deadline. I worked with the Assistant Scoring Director and Team Leaders to provide guidelines to benefit their teams of scorers, so they could perform their duties confidently and successfully.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I have always wanted to use my education and knowledge in a way that gives back to others who want it, while also fulfilling my own desire to immerse myself in cultures all over the world. Therefore, teaching overseas is exactly what I’ve had my mind set on for years, to simultaneously fulfill others and myself during the experiences.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I know this will be a challenging role, and I am prepared for that. I am able to adapt to unfamiliar situations and find a way to thrive under whatever circumstances. I also respect and have compassion towards other cultures, and I am always eager to learn. I, too, will be a student during this experience.
