I will be graduating from Stellenbosch University year end – December 2019, with a four year Bachelor in Education (majoring in Mathematics and Science). I am looking to travel abroad as of January 2020 with the intention of further exploring and enriching my own educational experience as I would like to go into Educational Psychology one day. In doing so, I strongly believe that it is imperative for one to gain as much experience from as many different perspectives as possible.

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I have lived in South Africa my entire life, and despite having traveled extensively within its boarders – I have yet to travel abroad. I strongly believe that one becomes deeply enriched through experiencing life from a variety of different perspectives. I am in a position in life where the opportunity to travel could not be any better. I am studying Education with the intention of further studying Educational Psychology. However, I would like to have experience in the field before practicing. Throughout my degree, I have had the opportunity to engage closely with a variety of educational environments within the context of South Africa. For the purpose of enriching my own understanding and experience of education in varying contexts, what better way to do so than grabbing the opportunity to teach abroad?

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I am an incredibly passionate and dedicated educator. I have a deep appreciation for education itself, and I strongly believe that knowledge and education has the ability to transform the life of an individual. I believe that education is not simply about regurgitating facts or testing memory, but rather about the entire process of learning – from the mistakes to the achievements. As an educator, I have a strong growth-mindset; I am generally a positive and enthusiastic individual; I believe that failure is an opportunity to learn; I embrace challenges and welcome constructive criticism; I am conscious about admitting when I am wrong or made a mistake; and I am passionate about improving the state of the planet. As a result, I believe I am not only a suitable candidate to educate but, I also believe I am a good role model for the individuals who will find themselves in my classroom.

Additional information:

I am still currently enrolled as a student at Stellenbosch University. I am fully confident (based on my current academic results) that I will be graduating year end – December 2019. As a result, I will only be able to accept jobs as of January 2020. I do not have a partner, and I have no commitments in South Africa – therefore, I am fully able to accept a job that requires a relocation.
