Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I want to teach in Korea so that I can continue my teaching career. I want to take the leap to Korea to not only enrich my life but the students I will be teaching. I have always dreamed of a path that would allow me to live, travel, and explore the beautiful continent of Asia. Recently, I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to teach English at a Primary School in Budapest, Hungary. After the year I spent teaching in Budapest I immediately fell in love with the profession. Teaching gave me a purpose and a profession I could see myself being in long-term. For me, I have longed for the opportunity to be immersed into a foreign country to learn about the people, cultures, cities, history, and languages that reside in that region of the world. Luckily, Budapest provided me with that opportunity and I hope Korea will too. So, after I returned from my summer abroad traveling in Europe I decided to research how I could make the dream of living in Korea a reality. While doing my research I stumbled upon Flying Cows and I immediately felt that this could be my path to Korea to teach English. I am confident that I will be able to take my knowledge of the English language to teach the children of Korea to help them better understand and speak the language. Being able to teach provides me with a tremendous amount of gratification that enables me to help enrich young children’s lives and better their futures. Now that I am being presented with this amazing opportunity to become and EFL teacher in Korea, I can see and feel that this position can provide me with the same type of fulfillment I had while teaching in Hungary. I am excited for this new venture in my life and can’t wait to see where this journey leads.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I personally think I am suitable to teach overseas in Korea because I already have experience doing it. I am not going into this job blind anymore, I know what to expect. When I first got off the plane when I landed in Budapest I was pretty nervous about the whole situation of living in a foreign country and going to do a job that I have never done before. After a month or so I really settled into where I was and the school I was teaching at. Once, I settled in Budapest became like home to me. I really enjoyed the whole teaching experience and the relationships I was able to build with my students. This is why I am looking for a new home to continue my teaching career and I think Korea would be the perfect place to go.
