Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I enjoy learning about new cultures, and new countries. My background in psychology affords me the opportunity to see and experience how people from various cultures live from day to day, how they interact, what figures most prominently in their value system, and overall how they view the world. Furthermore, there is nothing like knowing what you’re made of once you’ve been outside your home country, and then have the consideration to recognize the vices and virtues that exist in your own culture.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I have learned to adjust well and quickly to different cultures, embracing their customs and understanding their way of life without being impeded by too much judgement or prejudice, as I seek to understand rather then criticize.
The people I work with, both students and staff alike, afford me the opportunity to get a glimpse of life in their native country, and while I know I cannot be ‘one of them,’ I would like to think that an outside observation allows for a new and different perspective. It is also important that I not only teach American English, but also help students to understand the cultural context behind the language. That is a necessity. One cannot learn the language without learning he culture; the two are intertwined. I do not wish to teach nor impress political or religious beliefs upon students, but educate them purely from a historical perspective on American culture, in as unbiased a manner as I can hope to provide.

Additional information:

In perfect honesty, I have a few medical conditions that must be put forward: firstly, I have an imbalance issue, leftover from a surgery at age ten that has left me with a limp in my left leg, thus having the need for stair rails or elevators when in transit. I am sure this issue can be easily resolved.
Secondly, I have been diagnosed with severe anemia since June of 2018. I am doing my best to maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly and take all necessary precautions to ensure that a sudden episode during working hours does not occur. Thankfully, nothing serious has happened since my diagnosis, and I believe I can continue to manage it without any new complications arising.
