Why do you want to teach overseas?:

Teaching overseas is to me a fantastic opportunity as it can combine my own personal development including my passion for new experiences with my own professional development. Teaching is a subject i’m very passionate about and the opportunity to be able to do so in a country that values education seems almost unreal. Teaching will undoubtedly help me grow more as an individual but I also hope it provides me an opportunity for this to blossom into a career. I hope to inspire others via the English language and my culture like how others have inspired me in my education. I understand the importance of education as I also recall the poor experiences and how these can also shape a student. I studied Journalism not only because of my own enjoyment but also because Journalism by it’s very nature forces one to approach situations and people they may never have before. It forces you to look at and appreciate the world around you. It teaches you to engage with people. Teaching I feel is the same in that regard and that contributes to my passion for teaching. A good teacher is a role model that provides a great, exciting education that gets others to engage with you but also the world around them. It can make students think on their feet. The English language is widely spoken and I’m passionate about educating students in my language because it can help them grow as people but also provide them with professional opportunities.
On a more personal level I’m looking for this opportunity as I come from a small rural village in England and teaching in another country will allow me to also broaden my horizons as a person. I’ve always been pushing myself and looking for any opportunity to gain new experiences and knowledge. Pushing myself and adapting is natural to me as trained journalist. South Korea provides a fantastic opportunity for me personally but also where I can also use my skills to enrich other peoples lives. I don’t doubt that re-locating to another country will be a challenge however I’m fully prepared and excited for this. South Korea has a rich history and culture. I’m more than happy to fully explore this country. Living and working in another country allows one to fully explore a country in a way which simply cannot be done via travelling or by reading about it. I’ve had some amazing teachers and I hope I can be that aswell. If I can be a positive force in the classroom then I know I can be satisfied that I’ve accomplished a goal of inspiring others while also perhaps inspiring myself.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I’ve mentioned previously that I don’t doubt that living in another country away from your own established culture and friends is a challenge. However that simply makes me more excited about doing so. I consider myself to be quick to adapt and hungry for new experiences. I want to fully embrace any opportunity I can to teach overseas and I know I have the drive for this. I have the drive to not only perform within the teaching role but also the drive to live somewhere truly unique.
I’m driven and able to embrace a new experience but I’m also educated and trained. My degree in Journalism has given me many skills that have helped me personally but also given me skills that can be transferred to teaching. I have put these into practice in the past as I have experience with one to one teaching as a freelance personal tutor that educated students in subjects such as English, Media, Sociology and Communications and Culture

Thank you for taking the time to read my details and I truly look forward to future teaching.
