Work Experience

Position

Job title: Business advisory and entrepreneur
Employer: Myself and a team of colleges
Date of employment: August 2017 – June 2018
Summary of role:

I choreographed and constructed a successful business plan for my local village shop.
I co-created the Lowerbroadheath community shop council, a council that built a charity business from scratch which involves managing volunteers from the village to run the project.
The business Plan I wrote enabled the council to obtain government funding, business bank account, become a recognised charity and ultimately by following the plan the business has successful launched and is generating positive turnover in its current first year.

Position

Job title: Volunteer
Employer: unknown
Date of employment: 2015 June-July.
Summary of role:

For a fortnight in south Africa – Johannesburg. I was aiding an orphanage with caring and education of the children whilst educating the staff on English reading and writing.
I lived and worked in the same conditions as those who live there, learning an invaluable experience on how important collective team work can improve an organisation and those we affect.
I thoroughly enjoyed educating the young children and the experience has always stayed with me. It is a strong motivator for my application today.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I have an extremely strong desire to work overseas and educate young pupils. I have a passion to live adventurously and help others, so this role is perfect for me. To be able to go to these countries and teach pupils English is the perfect job for me. As stated in my work experience, teaching English to orphans in south Africa is my strongest motivator. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, not only working with the young children, but forming strong friendships and connections to all the people i met. Learning their culture was thoroughly enjoyable and i felt at home and comfortable, not wanting to leave at the end of my experience.
I have also visited Thailand and have a strong passion for returning. Teaching overseas inst something i had considered before these past experiences, yet upon reflection they are the most enjoyable experiences i have experienced. I would love to peruse this career more than any other possibilities available to me at this moment in time.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I have a clear and easily understandable English speaking voice.
I will be proactive in my own education, and learn the language of the country i will be employed at.
I have a calm and professional approach to my work and will always do my upmost to deliver quality, focusing on better results.
I do not get nervous around new or large groups of people and try to impose myself upon discussions and engage those who would otherwise shy away.
I believe it is very important to give these pupils the best chances in life to succeed and if i can influence and inspire them to enjoy their work and give them a passion for studying it will motivate me even more to achieve the very best i can.
Ultimately, i will be very committed to the role and deliver the best teaching experience for the pupils possible.
