Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

Firstly, I am passionate about education, particularly language learning, and care greatly about young people and their futures. For example, I myself studied French and Spanish at the University of Oxford, as I believe firmly in the value of strong language skills. Equally, I currently volunteer to assist in the production of English language learning resources with Fundación Proyecto Fábula, demonstrating my interest in supporting children’s education. As such, I possess the motivation and commitment to succeed teaching English overseas.

Additionally, I enjoy travel and meeting new people, as exemplified by my experience working abroad in France and Spain, and am looking for opportunities to become acquainted with new cultures and learn new language skills myself. I also believe that teaching overseas is a great opportunity for me to further develop my communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills in a new environment, as well as to gain further experience working overseas.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I am passionate about education and opportunities for young people and am particularly interested in promoting language learning. I currently volunteer at Fundación Proyecto Fábula, assisting in the production of English language learning resources, and recently launched my own website, Cuentos Cub3d, for the creation of short stories and translations as useful materials for language learners. Consequently, education is a field I am currently engaged in through voluntary experience, which indicates the passion and motivation I would bring to a teaching role overseas.

In addition, I boast excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, as well as strong time management skills, which would prove useful in the role of teacher. For example, during my undergraduate degree, I managed multiple deadlines on a weekly basis and presented my ideas verbally in tutorials. I also possess prior experience teaching English, as I previously worked as an English Language Assistant in France. This role gave me a valuable insight into what it takes to be a teacher. I explored and implemented creative ways to engage students to learn English and adapted and tailored lessons to suit students’ interests and language levels. I also gained experience planning lessons and preparing materials, as well as managing small groups of students. Furthermore, in this position, I arrived punctually to classes and collaborated well with class teachers. I would seek to transfer these skills to other overseas teaching roles.
