Why do you want to teach overseas?:

After having spent a year abroad in a study-exchange programme I developed a passion for learning about new cultures and the history surrounding different countries. During my final year of university, I decided to complete an online TEFL course with the hopes of going abroad to teach and explore another continent. Due to the unforeseen circumstances surrounding the global pandemic, I put this plan on hold. Instead of moving abroad, after successfully completing my degree, I returned home to gain valuable work experience and save money. However, now that countries are beginning to reopen my passion for immersing myself into new cultures has been re-established. Teaching overseas is the perfect opportunity to explore new cultures whilst helping others and developing different skill sets. With a background in Psychology and work experience as a Support Worker, I have found that I love to support others and to facilitate their learning. Working as a TEFL teacher to encourage and facilitate students to learn the English language would be a rewarding role. I would greatly appreciate the experience and responsibility of this task; helping to expand the future pathways and inspiring the minds of the students that I come into contact with.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

Having been a student of the Norwegian language, I understand the importance of trust a teacher must have with their pupils. I am an open and friendly individual, who does well at helping encourage others to reach their goals. Naturally being a very positive and encouraging person, I hope to inspire the students to take up and continue the learning of the English language. I work best in positions and roles that help to support others. In my spare time I like to volunteer which reflects my altruistic and empathetic nature. This allows me to quickly connect with other individuals which should support me in building a connection with my students. I am also a very hard worker. In March 2021 I was awarded the employee of the month due to my performance as a support worker; from both helping the service users and the work team. I have achieved very well academically and have consistently earned good grades. This will help me to quickly develop the skills necessary to be a TEFL teacher. Having lived abroad before, I am aware that I am very adaptable to my environments and can adjust well to change. Additionally, I am very organised and like to plan ahead. By being both flexible and structured, I believe I will manage very well in a classroom environment.
