Work Experience

Position

Job title: Waitress
Employer: Battle Abbey
Date of employment: November 2016-
Summary of role:

I work as a waitress for Weddings and other various events. I answer the questions of the guests, serve them food and drink, set up the wedding venue, and often have to solve problems during pressured situations. I have developed and used my team-working skills with my colleagues, especially at the bar when it can get quite busy. My communications and confidence skills are key in maintaining a level head during late shifts and continuing on despite what problems may throw themselves at me.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I want to teach abroad as it is an amazing opportunity to enrich myself within another culture and explore a new country, all whilst sustaining myself financially and teaching the next generation. Teaching abroad is also an opportunity to meet new people, enrich myself personally, as well as learn a new language (something I am very keen to do!).

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I am an enthusiastic learner and all around optimistic person. If a challenge is posed to me, I am very willing to face it head on with a smile on my face. My social skills and confidence help me when engaging with rooms full of large people, as my experience in theatre has taught me. Furthermore, the brief times I have helped young children/teens with their education, I have found it incredibly fulfilling and enjoyable. Sharing knowledge and language is a way to impact people and open new cultures to my own, as well as me to their’s.

Additional information:

I feel as though my CV and the other boxes capture my desire to work in Korea well. However, I would also just like to add that I really enjoyed school and learning, and want to share that passion with other young peoples, encouraging them to learn as I have.
