Over the past 2 years tisa has included acting as an interpreter and teaching a profoundly Deaf child with linguistic deprivation both English and Irish Sign Language, as well as providing her with full access to a differentiated curriculum. As a result I have lots of experiences with language teaching, as well as working under difficult situations and differentiation of the curriculum to suit students. I have worked with numerous other students also, with a range of difficulties such as ASD, ODD, visual impairment, OCD, dyslexia, cerebal palsy and more.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I have had plenty of experience working in a classroom and in an educational setting, and would love to use these skills in my own classroom. I love teaching, and I also love travelling, so the opportunity to teach overseas would be very exciting. I really want to grow and learn as a teacher in a new, challenging environment.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I am very adaptable, enthusiastic and quick to learn! I have had extensive experience with working with language barriers (my entire degree was taught through sign language, even though I was a complete beginner on my first day!), and working with other cultures and briding those gaps. I love the challenge of this, and I love learning about other cultures and learning new languages! I also really enjoy travelling, and have really missed the opportunity to do so over the past year and a half. I have been to China previously, and loved it, and would love the chance to now experience Korea for myself!
