Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I want to teach overseas because I believe the skills I hold can open opportunities for young people. I’m aware that the English language is an important skill for people in foreign countries as it allows them to study at prestigious universities, or gain work experience in international firms. The cultural exchange of employing native English speakers also broadens student’s vision of the world and allows them to seek opportunities in other countries. I believe that every person has the right to education and I want to be apart of the growing educational movement. For selfish reasons I want to travel abroad and learn about a new culture; I am looking to develop myself as a person and expand my own social and professional networks.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I am a suitable candidate because I am confident, patient, and empathetic. I have taught in a formal classroom setting before and I thoroughly enjoyed passing on my knowledge to students and seeing the ‘I understand!’ moments. Teaching English as a foreign language in China suited me well because I found fulfilment in helping others understand what is a privilege to me. The skills I gained during my TEFL certificate are readily transferrable to any setting and I am craving to teach now that I have completed my degree! I am adaptable, easy-going, and find it easy to make friends. I love to travel and am ready for my next adventure!
