Work Experience

Position

Job title: Applications Engineer
Employer: ESWIN UK Ltd
Date of employment: 30/09/2020 – present
Summary of role:

I work currently as an applications engineer for ESWIN, a leading semi-conductor electronics company. I assist with the final stages of design of touch-processing chips, collaborating with teams in the UK and in China to integrate our product into customers’ devices.

Position

Job title: English Teacher
Employer: HKOSC
Date of employment: 01/06/2018 – 31/08/2018
Summary of role:

I was an English teacher at a residential summer camp in Hong Kong. My responsibilities included teaching 3 English classes per day, and running additional activities such as sports classes, dance lessons, and arts and crafts workshops. We also ran evening activities such as talent shows and team building activities, and we also organised whole-school performances to celebrate the end of the camp.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I want to teach overseas as I have done it before and loved every second of it. I work well with children, and a huge motivator for me is seeing their progress and development, not only in their English skills but in their confidence too. I enjoy learning about new cultures – I have lived abroad before and know I can integrate into a new society and learn and share with people around me. One of my biggest goals at the moment is to learn a new language, so I think living abroad in Korea could make that dream into a reality. Overall, I think I have the enthusiasm and passion to have a big positive impact on the children I teach, and that’s the legacy I want to leave.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I am well educated, an experienced teacher and someone with the resilience and creativity to make the best out of a bad situation. As I’ve learned from my previous teaching experienced, even the most meticulously planned lessons will not turn out as expected – a good teacher is someone who can cope with this calmly, and has ideas up their sleeves to move on and get the class learning again.
