Job title: Peer Mentor
Employer: University College Dublin
Date of employment: September 2019-May 2020
Summary of role:
I was a peer mentor for my degree program and helped to introduce new students to campus, help them understand the program and help them settle into college life by hosting events with other peer mentors.
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
I have been wanting to work overseas for over a year now but haven’t had the opportunity due to travel being shut down due to covid. I am looking forward to moving somewhere new and experiencing a new culture and surroundings. I have always enjoyed meeting new people and I hope that I will make life long memories and have many great experiences while teaching.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I have always enjoyed being in education especially when I was in primary school, I hope that I can be an engaging and fun teacher that can help the children in my class have a good time while learning English. I have a lot of experience with working with children due to being a babysitter for many years while I was a teenager. I also have younger siblings who I help with their school work often. I think that I would be a great fit for a teaching job overseas because I am an outgoing person who works well with others and I about living and working in a place that is completely different from my home.
