Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I want to teach overseas as I want to experience a new culture, make new friends and grow as a person within a country that provides real life experiences. I see it as an opportunity, not only to develop important teaching skills for use in the future, but a chance to ingrain myself within a culture that is completely new and exciting. I also believe that helping students to increase their understanding of English will have enormous benefits to their chances in life but also to my own personal development. Further, I love exploring and I’m really looking forward to visiting different rural areas whilst abroad. I also have a love for food and there will be lots of opportunities to try new foods (Ddukbokki and Bulgogi for example). Ski resorts in South Korea are also plentiful and I’d enjoy spending some time on the slopes!

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I have spent several days within Primary and Secondary schools, within the UK, to gain some valuable experience assessing whether I have the capabilities to teach students. I was able to elicit answers effectively with students on a one-to-one basis, helping them to answer problems on their own accord. I was patient and empathetic to various students situations; one girl with severe dyslexia required assistance within an English class to structure her words and sentences correctly. Completion of the 120 hour TEFL qualification has given me a great grounding to expand my knowledge on teaching techniques employed within various schools.

Additional information:

I would prefer to teach Elementary Students initially.
