Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my experiences teaching and working overseas and I am now ready to experience somewhere new and gain more experience! Experiencing new cultures and languages has always been one of my passions and I love to share my culture and language with my students too. It is such a rewarding experience knowing that you have made an impact on a student’s life by teaching them English, learning a language creates many opportunities in the future whether it be through education, work or travel. I really love delivering a lesson that students enjoy, by making a lesson fun and interactive students learn so much more and are more willing to speak English. I hope that I can help students achieve their goals whether it be improving their speaking skills or achieving the grade they want in exams.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I feel that I am a suitable candidate because I am a very independent person having already lived and taught English overseas. I am open to new cultures and can adapt quickly to new environments, I am always craving new experiences! I am CELTA qualified and also have completed a 168 hour online TEFL course, these qualifications have taught me many techniques and skills which I use in the classroom. Having worked in an IH school I know how to teach lessons using communicative methods and how to adapt to teaching a range of ages and abilities. I have worked on study holiday programs and summer camps which are very fast paced environments requiring you to work well within a team and coordinate lessons and activities. I am so excited to experience this new opportunity and work with a new school!

Additional information:

During my time living in Italy I made it my purpose to learn the language, I attended a language school for three months and have been studying Italian by my self ever since. I am so interested in immersing myself within the culture of the country I am living in and feel language is one of the best ways to do this. I hope I can also do the same in South Korea!
From the age of thirteen to eighteen I attended drama classes on the weekends. This not only increased my confidence greatly but also gave me a store of games and activities that I can transfer to the classroom to make lessons fun and interactive. I also have a subsidiary diploma in musical theatre. The summer camps I worked in last year were mainly drama based and helped students improve their English skills through projects on different subjects, games and creating films.
