Summary of role:

As part of my childcare course we were sent to placements to gain experience in working with children from the ages of 0-5 years. I spent 3 months at each placement. to pass the course were to be signed off by the teachers at the school/nurseries. During my time on this course I wanted to become a teacher but after passing I took another career path into animation and illustration.

Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I was inspired to look into the opportunities to teach children English in another country by a friend who is doing the same thing in Shanghai for the past 3 years. As I had originally wanted to be a teacher during my time in college, I think this would be a great chance to learn the culture and lifestyle of another country as well as helping teach the children there so that we are both learning something. Another country is much more exciting and I want to be able to learn new things myself along the way and develop my own skills in life.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

Even though it was over 10 years ago that I did my childcare course in college, I really enjoyed my time working with the children, getting to know them and help teach them new things as well as enjoy my time there to make it fun and interesting. I can adapt well and pick up new ways of working easily and I am always willing to push myself to take the extra step and have more responsibilities when ready. I want to be given the opportunity to prove myself that I can give something back to others especially children who are our future. Along with becoming involved in the culture of the country and understanding their way of living it will help me in my teaching in ways to understand each Childs own individual needs and adapt to their way of learning so they all improve equally.
