I completed a 3 year Bachelors in Engineering at the University of the West of England and then a 1 year PGCE at Bristol University.
Job title: Maths Teacher
Employer: Zen Educate
Date of employment: Feb 2023 – Current
Summary of role:
I have worked as a supply teacher and as a maths teacher in primary and secondary schools in the UK. This includes having full responsibility of planning, teaching, and assessment for my classes.
Job title: Swimming Teacher
Employer: Everyone Active
Date of employment: October 2017 – Current
Summary of role:
Full responsibility of planning, teaching, and assessing classes of up to 12.
Why do you want to teach overseas?:
I would like to teach overseas to gain an appreciation of local culture and to develop my independence as a person. I would like to share my skills as a teacher with a different culture. I would also like to learn more about how teaching is different in South Korea and how it can help me to become a better teacher.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I have always loved to travel and experience new cultures so will have no problems adjusting to the new environment. As a qualified maths teacher, I bring valuable experience in classroom management and I have a passion for sharing my knowledge with the younger generation. In particular, I enjoy teaching children how to be independent and how they can best help themselves to become better learners. My studies in pedagogy during my PGCE helped me develop these skills and I have a passion for passing them on.
