Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

English or Art

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I currently work in a Montessori classroom assisting first through third graders. I love helping them build confidence in their language skills and it has been amazing to see their improvement throughout the year. While these young learners are developing skills in their native language, I found many overlaps between our literacy strategies and the tactics introduced in my TEFL courses. In both experiences I have grown a solid understanding of the fundamentals of teaching a language. I feel passionate about helping students expand these skills and I would love to implement my art background in the classroom to make the environment warm and fun. I would make an effort to build a friendly classroom atmosphere to make the challenge of learning a new language less intimidating.
