Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I’ve always really enjoyed both learning and teaching. I actually tutored a lot of friends throughout middle and high school in Japanese and Korean. While I was in Korea I also did some informal English tutoring and it was so wonderful to observe the progress my students made and the joy they experienced in realising this themselves, too. Oftentimes learning another language can be stressful. English especially can be a tough language to learn so if I can help Korean students learn while enjoying the language I would be so happy, since I think that when you enjoy the subject and have fun exploring it, you learn much quicker and the knowledge is much more likely to stick.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

Since I grew up abroad and have also lived in Korea twice, I would face absolutely no problems with moving to a foreign country. I have always been respectful of the local culture and customs, and I also speak Korean. I’m a very open-minded person and I really enjoy travelling and meeting new people and experiencing new things.
