Supporting Information:

Why do you want to teach overseas?:

I would like to teach as a high-school teacher in an international school. I can teach ESL but I want to teach English Literature, History, Humanities, perhaps a science or Math Subject would be nice.

Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:

I qualified in May 2008 at St Giles College and have since then taught all ages and abilities, from young learners to adult and from beginner to advanced. I have taught at-risk teenagers, as well as learners with disabilities such as dyslexia. I have experience of teaching large groups (up to 16 students) such as at Milan’s IULM University, and one to one and conversation classes. I have taught Business English (especially at the consultancy firm Ernst and Young where I teach communications and business skills such as effective presentations) and exam preparation classes (for IELTS, TOEFL, CAE, FCE etc.), as well as being an examiner at ENAV (the society which manages Italy’s air traffic) where me and a colleague tested all of Italy’s air traffic controllers. I have worked at British Council, Milan, and worked last year at the British Council’s Cairo branch, for the summer where I taught children aged 5 to 14.

Additional information:

I am comfortable teaching abroad and have spent the last ten years living and working in other countries. In Italy, I worked at a high school. In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I developed an online English language for Portuguese speakers. I also have extensive online teaching skills, one example of which would be my time spent teaching children in China via an american firm called True Leaning.
